The author, who is seen to penetrate the dephts of the human soul in his stories and novels, draws attention with the references and ironies he uses his works. The author explicitly uses these techniques in his novel Vatandaş, which can be considered within the scope of his study. Şaban Baş, the protagonist of the novel, which can be considered in the context of social criticism, is clearly alienated from the society he lives in. With this alienation, the protagonist, torn between the docile Şaban Baş and the brave Volkan Taş, ultimately prefers to remain a Vatandaş and chooses to join an anonymous resistance. He comforts himself by writing on the backs of public restroom doors, saying things that no one else can say. When he returns to outside world, he falls into trouble again, but here, too, he opens an imaginary door for himself by marrying a woman who resembles his mother. Vatandaş, who partially experiences imaginary satisfactions thanks to this marriage, is generally seen to be floundering and troubled between the imaginary and the symbolic. In this study, the psychology of Şaban Baş/Vatandaş, who reveals his mental state through his own language, will be analyzed in the light of psychoanalytic methods. At this point, the methodology will be based on the teaching of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan. The aim of the study, which will be supported by the views of other psychoanalysts, will not be to reveal the pathological aspects of Vatandaş, but to try to make sense of Vatandaş actions based on the images in the text.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/28 The Dissident of Every Era: Yevgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin 2024-09-21T14:58:21+03:00 Yaren Gülşen yarengulsen7@gmail.com
Yevgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin, the “heretic” of every era, the opponent of every opinion, the critic of the literature he was passionate about, and the writer of political satire, was born in 1884 in Lebedyan, then part of the Russian Empire. Zamyatin, who took his place in the literary world with his contributions and oppositional stance, had a universal resonance with his literary power. Leaving a literary legacy with his contributions to dystopian literature and criticism of totalitarianism, Zamyatin has produced works that deeply penetrated the political and social structures of his time with his ideological stance. The aim of this review is to show that Zamyatin, as a representative of an attitude that opposes uniformization, obedience and the suppression of creative thought, is the critical voice of every era and the opponent of every era. The significance of the research is that it presents a biography of Zamyatin with the help of his autobiographies and in this sense contributes to the national literature. The technique of this study, in which we will explore the author’s expressions and ideas to see his position and oppositional stance, has been determined as content analysis. In order to support the study, other sources on Zamyatin’s life have been consulted and the narrative has been deepened by referring to Zamyatin’s own statements.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/48 A Study on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Science Education of Gifted Individuals 2025-05-27T13:03:51+03:00 Aslı Şensoy draslisensoy@gmail.com
Through the education of gifted individuals, cultural and intellectual progress is actively provided, and these individuals are supported to realize innovative transformations in their countries. It is essential to design learning environments where gifted individuals can realize their potential at the highest level and benefit from the technological opportunities of the age. In the context of the digital transformation process in the field of education, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in education is becoming increasingly important; AI-supported applications attract attention in many areas, such as individualizing and differentiating the learning process, supporting students' strengths, and diversifying ways of accessing information. This study aims to systematically examine academic studies conducted in the last decade (2014–2024) on artificial intelligence (AI)-based applications in the science education of gifted individuals. This research used the literature review method, sample characteristics, publication location (international/national), research designs, studied topics, AI tools, and data analysis methods as the basic review criteria. Within the scope of the study, national and international databases (ERIC, Scopus, Web of Science, ULAKBİM, etc.) were searched with keywords such as “gifted students”, “science education”, “artificial intelligence”, “AI in gifted education”; studies that met the inclusion criteria were examined in detail. At the end of the study, trends, focused themes, and methodological features regarding the use of artificial intelligence in science education of gifted individuals will be systematically presented in line with the obtained data. This review aims to guide researchers and practitioners who want to plan the use of artificial intelligence in science education for gifted individuals in the future more effectively and in a more targeted manner by revealing the general trends and gaps in the studies conducted in the field.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/46 Examining of Teaching Programmes in the Context of Earthquake Literacy 2025-05-23T10:32:31+03:00 İbrahim Himmetoğlu ibrahim.himmetoglu@gmail.com Bülent Aksoy baksoy28@gmail.com
This research was conducted to examine the curricula implemented by the Ministry of National Education in Türkiye in the context of earthquake literacy. The research was conducted by document analysis in accordance with the qualitative research method. In this context, the curricula prepared within the scope of Special Education and Guidance, Primary Education, Secondary Education levels and the Türkiye Century Education Model (TCEM), which started to be implemented in 2024, were analyzed. The total number of curricula analysed is 250. Within the scope of the analysis, firstly, the text was analysed and the lessons with earthquake expression were determined. In the second stage, texts containing earthquake expression were identified. In the third stage, the texts were handled in the context of earthquake literacy and analysed in the dimensions of knowledge, attitude, behaviour and skill. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analysis, earthquake expression is included in 35 (14%) of 250 teaching programmes. In these 35 teaching programmes, there are sentences with the expression earthquake 146 times. As a result of the examination of these sentences within the scope of earthquake literacy, statements belonging to 5 behavioural dimensions in Special Education and Guidance programmes; 19 knowledge, 2 behaviour, 1 attitude dimension in primary education programmes; 11 knowledge dimensions in secondary education curricula; 69 knowledge and 1 attitude dimension in curricula prepared within the scope of TCEM were identified. Within the scope of the data obtained in the study, it was concluded that there were expressions in the knowledge, attitude and behaviour dimension of earthquake literacy, while there were no expressions in the skills dimension, and that the curricula prepared within the scope of TCEM in the context of earthquake literacy were more functional than other curricula.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/41 Rhythmanalysis in The Construction Of Geographical Reason 2025-04-07T23:10:16+03:00 Esen Çiftçi esenciftci23@gmail.com
This article was written to evaluate the geographical reason that David Harvey tried to reveal in his works in terms of rhythmanalysis, which Henri Lefebvre proposed as a method of analysis. Harvey emphasizes the need to bring together quantitative methodology and philosophy of geography in the discipline of geography. He stated that a geographical understanding that combines theoretical and analytical thought is necessary in order to reveal the hidden or overt aims of capital and dominant powers. He worked to establish ways and arguments through which geographical understanding and knowledge could be acquired. In this context, it is thought that associating Lefebvre's rhythms that ensure the continuity of all elements related to nature and humans with Harvey's "geographical reason" perspective will make a significant contribution to the discipline. Document analysis method was used in the study. In this context, a literature review was conducted on the concepts of “geographical reason” and “rhythmanalysis”. As a result of the study, it was understood that the formation of the geographical reason that Harvey drew the conceptual framework for and the point of how the basic concepts of geography come together can be explained with the relational and dialectical perspective of rhythmanalysis.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/45 Biology Teachers' Views on Artificial Intelligence 2025-05-05T19:50:52+03:00 Esra Demirel Subaşı esrademirelsubasi@gmail.com Nurcan Uzel nrcnuzel@gmail.com
This study examines biology teachers' views on artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence accelerates technological transformation in education, offers personalised learning experiences, facilitates the understanding of complex biological processes and makes the teaching process more effective. Case study design, which is a qualitative method, was used in the study. The study participants consisted of 20 biology teachers working in public schools in Ankara. The data were collected with the Artificial Intelligence Opinion Form prepared by the researchers. While the teachers stated that artificial intelligence has advantages such as visual content and modelling, virtual learning environments, time saving and providing support to the teacher in the learning process; they also mentioned the existence of difficulties such as lack of technological infrastructure, lack of knowledge, data security and authenticity problems. In addition, suggestions such as increasing in-service trainings, updating undergraduate programmes, gaining experience and improving technological equipment were presented for biology teachers to be more competent in artificial intelligence applications. In order to increase the awareness of artificial intelligence, it was emphasised that educational policies should be updated, experience sharing and guidance resources should be provided for teachers. In this context, it is considered very useful for biology teachers to gain knowledge, skills, awareness, etc. about artificial intelligence in order to increase the quality of biology education.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/47 The Ontology of Time in Geography 2025-05-24T12:27:20+03:00 Duygu Bozkır duygugoknar@gmail.com Servet Karabağ skarabag@gazi.edu.tr
This study begins with the observation that the concept of time is often overlooked in geography, which is predominantly read as a science of space. The ambiguity in the ontology of time in geography leads to its confinement within a linear dimension, while space becomes a tool for capitalist control through time. In early capitalism, time was an important tool for managing space. Modern ontology centers Newtonian views, treating time as an abstract and absolute entity, which undermines cyclical time concepts rooted in nature and shapes individuals’ and societies’ perception of time according to a single-dimensional epistemology. As a result, life that once integrated with natural cyclical flows has shifted into rigid structures, controlled by invisible linear constraints symbolized by wristwatches in the digital age. This study examines the ontological assumptions of time in geography through this lens. It criticizes the dominance of spatially independent, linear time in geographic ontology and its neglect of other time forms. The relationship between time and space is discussed, exploring how geography could be understood as a science of time. Finally, the study proposes that the geographic ontology of time should be based not on capitalism’s epistemology of abstraction, spatial independence, and absoluteness but on the unity of multidimensionality, spatial relationality, and relativity. Time is classified into five geographic dimensions: astronomical, ecological, perceptual, geological, and chronological. The foundation of time perception is argued to be shaped by critical theory and poststructural relational spatial approaches.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Heterotopic View https://heterotopicview.com/index.php/pub/article/view/44 Thematic Analysis of Student Feedback on Accounting Education: A Qualitative Study 2025-05-30T10:25:56+03:00 Yasin Reyhan yasin.reyhan@yobu.edu.tr
The aim of this study is to analyze online student feedback related to accounting education and to identify key problem areas encountered in the educational process through thematic examination.
